My 45th postcard, the third card from Russia. The photo was taken in Moscow. The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (or Khram Khrista Spasitelya) is a church in Moscow. It is the tallest Easter Orthodox church. The Cathedral took many years to build and it was consecrated on the very day Alexander III was crowned, 26 May 1883. After the Revolution was dynamited and reduced to rubble. In February 1990, the Russian Orthodox Church received the permision from the Sovient Goverment to rebuild The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. About one million Muscovites donated money for the project. The completed Cathedral of Christ the Saviour was consecrated on the Transfiguration Day, 19 August 2000. Se on korkein itäortodoksinen kirkko. Katedraalin rakentaminen kesti monta vuotta ja se vihittiin Aleksanteri III:n kruunajaisten yhteydessä, 26. toukokuuta 1883. Venäjän vallankumouksen jälkeen se räjäytettiin ja katedraali vajosi raunioiksi. Helmikuussa 1990 Venäjän ortodoksinen kirkko sai Neuvostoliitolta luvan uudelleenrakentaa Kristus Vapahtajan katedraali. Noin miljoona moskovalaista lahjoitti rahaa projektiin. My 44th postcard, and the first from Norway (before I've had a lottery card from Norway). The photo was taken in Washington DC, the United States. The building is called Jefferson Memorial, it was built in 1939. This Ionic Temple of a white marble designed according to the taste displayed by Thomas Jefferson. The Thomas Jefferson Memorial stands as a symbol of liberty. By the way Thomas Jefferson was the third President of the United States (1801-1809). You can see the Washington Monument on the background. It's the world's tallest obelisk, over 169 meters. Thank you Lexidh (Lexidh) for this interesting postcard that you sent me from our neighbour, Norway! I think the history of the monument is really intresting.

My 43rd postcard, and the third from Taiwan. The photo is taken in Taipei by Chen. This place, Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, is located in the western tip of Tansui, Taipei County, Taiwan. People call it "Lovers Harbour". It's well-known by its beautiful sunset and fresh seafood. It still holds its fuctionality as a harbor for fishing boats. Lover Bridge of Tamsui derived its name since it was started on February 14, 2003, Valentine's Day. The total length is about 169 meters and the walk across takes about three minutes. Thank you Rita (cincorita) for this amazing postcard that you sent me from Taiwan! I love its warm colours and the architecture of the bridge. The sun is so beautiful in the background of the photo. I also like reflections of the sea.

My 41st postcard, and 7th card from the United States from America. This photo was taken in Plum Island (in Newburyport), in Massachusetts by Jim Abts and Peter Randall. Plum Island is an island located of the northeast coast of the United States. The island is named for the hundreds of beach-plum bushes grownig everywhere. Thank you Nathan (lfainma) for this pretty postcard! It would be lovely to live by the sea, as you.

Stamps - they are interesting. Especially the stamp of coat of arms of Finland is really nice. I didn't know that you can buy Finnish stamp in the United States. Now to the second stamp. Its photo was taken in Mount McKinley, Alaska. This is a quite suprise - I have even three stamp of same series (which numbers are 80, 94 and 98). You can see another ones in my Stamps-text. The third postcard is also interesting. I haven't seen this kind of stamp before. In this stamp you can see one invention of Alexander Graham Bell. Thank you!

Postimerkit - ne ovat mielenkiintoisia. Erityisesti postimerkki Suomen vaakunasta on todella kiva. En tiennyt, että Valloistakin voi ostaa merkkejä Suomesta. Nyt toiseen postimerkkiin. Sen kuva on otettu Moun McKinleystä, Alaskasta. Tämä on melko yllätys - minulla on jo kolme saman sarjan postimerkkiä (numerot ovat 80, 94 ja 98). Toiset postimerkit voit nähdä Stamps-postauksestani. Kolmas postimerkki on myös mielenkiintoinen. En ole nähnyt tämänlaista postimerkkiä ennen. Postimerkissä on on yksi Alexander Graham Bellin keksinnöistä. Kiitos!

My 40th postcard and the second from Poland. The photo was taken in Poznan, Poland by Dariusz Krakowiak. You can see the Sw. Rocha Bridge and St. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Poznan is one of the oldest church in Poland and the oldest Polish cathedral and it was built in the 10th century. Thank you Patrycja (patt) for this pretty postcard that you sent me from Poland! I like very much its purple colours and the reflection of water. The lightning of cathedral is also beautiful. Thank you also for Christmas stamp. I have lot of them but this is my first Christmas stamp from Poland.

Se on rakennettu 900-luvulla. Kiitos Patrycja (patt) loistavasta kortista, jonka lähetit Puolasta! Pidän paljon sen purppuraväreistä ja veden heijastuksesta. Kirkon valaistus on myös kaunis. Kiitos myös joulupostimerkistä. Minulla on niitä paljon, mutta tämä oli ensimmäinen Puolasta.

I like very much about Chinese stamps and I don't know why. I like their design and colours. Especially the Year of Tiger -stamps are really cool.

The stamp is special edition of common 3,5 KN (Croatian kuna) stamp released for 50 years of UN declaration of children rights. Words "I djeca imaju prava!" means "Children have rights too!". I really think that human rights are very important thing. I like this Croatian stamp very much. I love the colour of the backround and what's important, I do love also its teddy :-)

I'm going to write also about stamps. The first thing that I always check about the postcard is stamps. I think that a stamp tells much about country. I have received beautiful stamps. Please add a comment, would you like that I will wrote about my earlier stamps!

Postimerkki on 3,5 kunan (Kroatian valuutta) erityispainos, joka julkaistiin YK:n lastenoikeuksien julistuksen 50-vuotis päivän kunniaksi. Sanat "I deja imaju prava" tarkoittavat "lapsilla on myös oikeuksia". Itse pidän ihmisoikeuksia todella tärkeänä. Pidän tästä kroatialaisesta postimerkistä paljon. Etenkin taustan väristä ja mikä tärkeintä, pidän myös sen nallesta :-)

Tästä lähtien aion kirjoittaa myös postimerkeistä. Ensimmäinen asia, jonka katson postikortista on postimerkit. Uskon, että postimerkki kertoo paljon kyseisestä maasta. My 37th postcard, and the 3rd from the Netherlands. The text on this card "een bloemetje uit Tuitjenhorn" means "some flowers from Tuitjenhorn" in Dutch. Thank you Laura (BondTegenLA) for this colourful postcard! There, in Finland, we have had snow even three months! And so cold. Even -25 Celsius degrees... I'm dreaming about summer time. Sunny weather and ice cream. Yummee!
